We approached this business looking for guidance on filing a return after H&R Block informed us we would owe a rather large bill for the year. Even if there was no way to reduce our tax bill for the year we hoped for some guidance on how to avoid the same situation next year. They took our information and told us they would see what they could do... then we received a $700 bill for the same return we could have filed under H&R Block or any other service for FREE. I know because that's what we did. They didnt even discuss any further guidance or options with us. $700 later for a 1040EZ I'm very displeased with these folks. They should have been transparent about what they would do for us and fee for services.

I was in a tax jam and needed a professional to help me with advise and assistance. I was referred to this group from another CPA in town who was no longer accepting clients. The owner accepted my case on Feb. 16, 2023, and assured me that he would help me get all of the areas of concerns corrected. I was in need of "INFO ONLY" for a 1099, x2 W-2s, 1 house sold, Schedule C with booking complete, and a 1099-C. I was prepared to seek out a tax attorney, tax expert, or even allow him to simply "Plug-N-Chug, if there was no need for a second option. However, after several months of absolutely NO contact from him, even with my visiting his office, calls, and emails, except for one where I was advised that they filed for an extension and was reaching out to an attorney for me, I finally went to get an update today. He was in the office, but I was told that he was on a call and did not have time to speak with me, but he would be done with my returns "Next week." WHAT??? I was only seeking information just in case I need to follow up elsewhere. He advised the admin assistant that I could pick up all of my documents tomorrow if I'd like, but he had them at his home and would need to bring them in later. This has been a horrible, frustrating, and anxiety provoking experience. He has not taken care of any of my needs and has only cost me money for the penalty interest on the taxes I will owe, which would not have been the case if he had not sat on my case and got me the information in a timely manner back in February. This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and not reflective of a fiduciary. I am very sorry I placed my trust in the Honeycutt Group to look out for my best interest. Their clients Do Not deserve this kind of neglectful assistance from a "professional." DO BETTER!!!
