DO NOT WORK WITH THESE GUYS!!! Not worth your time or money. They were SO slow to respond to our questions and concerns and overall, unprofessional! After a year of working with JB accounting, my husband called to cancel our account with them. Either they didn’t listen or forgot, and they didn’t cancel the account. We got charged for their services even though we weren’t using them anymore and they said they would send us to collections if we didn’t pay. This was incredibly frustrating because we had called and made it clear that we no longer needed them! JB accounting is a disorganized and crooked business.

They are awful at communicating with their clients. When there was paperwork in question instead of calling to ask me about it and clarify they assumed they knew what was best and did not talk to me first. Def. not what I would want from a company handling money.. Clear communication is essential and good customer service practices would go a long way.

Classified our 1 property business as an S-corp. Upon finding this out, we requested the S-corp be dissolved half a year ago. The person who filed our taxes forgot and did not dissolve until we arranged to meet to file our actual taxes, where we reminded him. He then dissolved it (which should have been done half a year ago) but it missed the deadline so we were fined for not filing our S-corp (that should not been created in the first place). When we contacted Garrett, he told us that there was nothing he could do. We questioned him why he so late to dissolve it, he just said he didn’t remember it needing to be dissolved. He said he thought our company was a sale’s company, which he had told us the same story half a year ago when we brought it up the first time. We were brushed off and given no help to resolve the issue. Likewise, we had to spend hours getting in touch with the IRS to fix a mess that we thought we were paying someone to keep us out of. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

I've been using Jake and Team for years, they do an amazing job. They are extremely thorough, honest, and keen on all relevant tax laws to help clients strategize to what's best for them. I can't recommend them enough, my experience has been 5 stars!

I started using these guys almost 10 years ago. I come here today to tell you to stay away!! Both offices are extremely hard to work with. The people working for them are pig headed. No communication. Their CNA threatened to report me to the IRS when I wouldn't pay him to fill out forms that I could do myself. They claim to be the top company for door to door salesmen. They are not! They have raised their prices three times in one year. BEWARE!

Do NOT work with these guys. I worked with Michael Rowell and I am STILL dealing with an amended return from 2019 that they did absolutely terribly. Has no idea what they are doing. PLEASE do your research into why someone there got sued and why they are so shady. Pay someone else to do your taxes the right way! I have proof that I worked with JB accounting and have posted a photo of the proof

Ive been with JBA for going on 3 years now - Ive had excellent and competent service and have been able to save tons on my taxes, in ways I wouldnt have thought of. Michael R has been especially helpful!

Once this was a 5 star review, today I’m changing it to 1 stars, 0 if I could. Michael has been doing our taxes for 3 years now. He did good the first 2 years. Tax season 2023 I sent over all of my 2022 documents and everything that was asked on my part, I paid that same day the invoice was sent to me and was told he was going to file that day (Feb 20th). Five weeks later, I go to the IRS on Check Refund Status and it said “You may not have entered your information correctly. Please verify your personal tax data and try again.” I called the office and the secretary said he would give me a call back. No call back, just an email saying it seems the IP PIN was missing. I told him I did add the PIN on the documents that I had signed. I called the office again to give him a chance to explain himself, this time the secretary was with an annoyed and rude tone and she told me he did e-file on Feb 20th and he couldn’t speak to me at the time and will call later. Hours later, no call, he sent another email apologizing and basically saying that a new feature will be added in the future since more clients are been asked to provide IP PINS by IRS …… Seriously? Taxes were sitting there, not filed AT ALL for 5 weeks, and it could’ve been longer if I didn’t check on the IRS website. After Michael’s email, on the following morning, I went to the IRS website and it says “Return received” which proofs, TAXES WERE NEVER FILED by him. $130 for headaches and poor customer service. They should be ashamed of themselves! Not worth it, and amount was same as TurboTax so if it’s a simple tax avoid them at all cost. Negative Responsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Supposedly had them file my taxes, been waiting for almost 6 weeks, not a single call or emails from them. When we went to check what was going on turns out taxes weren’t even filed in the first place. Oh but they charged us on the first day. All we get is an email saying going forward this will not happen again. I’ve been managing a business for over 15 years and if that would be my response to my customers every time I messed up I wouldn’t have a business.

They did alright with our taxes, but be careful asking them any questions. We had sold our home and knew we would have to pay capital gains tax, but didnt know how much. My wife sent an email asking for a rough estimate of how much wed have to pay based off our purchase price and projected sale price. She received a cryptic email full of hypothetical scenarios that didnt apply to us or our situation. She replied that we still didnt know what wed be liable for, and received an even longer response with similar examples, then at the end told us what wed probably need to pay. The person we talked to then proceeded to send us a BILL for the time he took to write the useless scenarios we didnt ask for. So after telling a young family in the middle of packing, selling a home, and buying another one that theyd be paying $15k in capital gains, he wanted us to pay him $60 for the few minutes it took to tell us. Since his responses were so convoluted, I googled capital gains tax to see if I could make more sense of it. He had basically copied and pasted the first couple of webpages that google brought up. On top of all this, he was extremely condescending in his communications, implying that we were ignorant because we didnt know the ins and outs of tax law and that surely my time was worth something since the time I put into writing those emails was more than a few minutes. Had we known that our emails would cost us, we would have looked somewhere else for the info. This made it clear that they only seem to care about keeping clients with large accounts. Our business was more of an annoyance. Extremely unprofessional to not let us know wed be charged to receive an email from him, especially when the information he sent didnt apply to our situation. Also, the accountant we switched to looked at the work hed done for us. We could have received more in tax returns but he opted to use simplified methods in several areas without telling us. Looks like our interests werent as valuable as his time.

JB Accounting and Tax has been a very big let down. I originally had a good experience with them years ago when I was in school but just switched back to them now with my business and personal taxes this past year. My primary point of contact was Michael, who is very nice on the phone but is completely non responsive. They filed an extension on my behalf and said everything was good, when they finally filed my taxes and let me know how much to pay I logged on to my account to pay taxes and made the payment I was advised. Later I received an additional tax bill for more than $1,000. When I called to state comptroller I found out that the extension was denied unless a certain amount of taxes was paid ad the time or requesting the extension. Non of this was communicated to me and when I asked JB Accounting and Tax nobody responded to my email. Over the course of about three months I have sent three emails about the issue and nobody will respond. To me is shows a lack of professionalism, maturity, and integrity. I would not recommend their services.

I have been using JB Accounting for 5 years now and have never had any issues with them. I feel that their price is fair. And the peace of mind knowing that my taxes are done correctly and in a prompt manner is the best. It is always a pleasure seeing Lee once a year for my taxes. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
