I rarely leave reviews but this one deserved it. Their communication was terrible, and as a result I ended up paying more than I should have. It also took them forever to get back to me via email and they never called me back, I had to call them multiple times to understand why I was getting billed. I understand staffing problems, but a business that handles people’s money should know how to communicate. I won’t be doing business with JB again for that reason. I finally paid them what they overcharged me to get them off my back but man they were terrible to work with. The receptionist who finally helped me out has only worked there for two weeks and she did a better job than anyone else so I appreciate her.

We have used this company for our payroll for quite some time and have had nothing but headaches. Delayed paychecks, miscalculated paychecks, overpayments, underpayments… It’s no wonder this company is closed on weekends and only open for 7 hours/day during the work week. They get nothing done!

I started using these guys almost 10 years ago. I come here today to tell you to stay away!! Both offices are extremely hard to work with. The people working for them are pig headed. No communication. Their CNA threatened to report me to the IRS when I wouldn't pay him to fill out forms that I could do myself. They claim to be the top company for door to door salesmen. They are not! They have raised their prices three times in one year. BEWARE!

Just a heads up for anyone thinking of using JB. The owner Jake Bassetts brother is in trial for an 11 million fraud case against the gov. Zach and Jake used to work together, and there might be similar tactics being used in JB. From the other reviews ive seen, it seems like people are having the same complaints as Zachs company. Taking advantage of summer sales kids, opening up llc s corps, and proceeding to mill in money with erc claim refunds and other fees that they can collect from any inncoent small business owner.

I had Jb do my taxes for 2021, and at first they did a great job with setting up my LLC. They filed my taxes and that was it. 3 months later I get an invoice from them for $70 dollars. I called and asked why I was being charged that and they said it was because I set up a quarterly service to file my taxes. I told them I never had agreed to that at all and I asked them to show me where I had agreed to that set up and they could not prove it to me. All they did was sent me a plan of what they offered but nothing with my signature. I have a whole thread of email asking them to prove to me where I agreed and they couldn’t. A year later the amount went up to $120 and they threaten me with send it to collections. Again I said I’d be willing to pay for that amount if they could show me where I had agreed to it. Again nothing. I have all the emails. I consider this very dishonest move on their part and I do not recommend this company to AT ALL. I ended up paying the full amount.

JB accounting made a mistake on their end which had the IRS come back asking me to pay 12k for that year of taxes plus the penalty fee that came with it if $1200. Jb accounting said I was responsible for making sure everything was correct, which I’m not the professional and I was doing business with them feeling like they have my back and would not make mistakes. They are the professionals not me. Even making a mistake, they said they would only cover half the penalty fee which would only be credit to me if I continue business with them. Recommend not having them do your taxes.

I sent Spencer all of my documents and had shared a google folder with him (I had multiple 1099 forms that needed filed). Spencer overlooked all of my documents that I had sent him and chose to prepare only ONE of my 1099 documents. Because my taxes were not fully prepared, I chose to go to a different accountant and company. Spencer still tried to charge me and I kept getting emails and texts saying that I would be charged a late fee. I had called him and he told me I would not be charged if my new accountant called in and settled it over the phone. Now the company is threatening to send me to collections over not paying for their fees when they only prepared 1 of the 4 forms I sent them. They did not prepare as I had asked and did not get the job done. On top of this they are sending unprofessional emails in reply to my concerns. Spencer is not professional and doesn’t get the job done. I do not recommend doing business with this company.

I am so grateful and impressed at the quick work Ethan made of my taxes. This is the 2nd year he has prepared my taxes for me. What takes me hours on end to finish in the diy sites Ethan FINISHED the day after I submitted my forms. I love the quick and precise questionnaire so I can get all my documents turned in. What a relief to have this finished AND he even found a return for me. Excellent rates. fast and accurate.

I just got married, and my new mother-in-law is a CPA, so I had her take a look at JBs work for this year and previous tax years. It turns out that JB is absolutely taking advantage of young, summer sales kids who dont any better. Its ridiculous that they are setting up S-corps for normal summer sales kids just so JB can make money off doing unnecessary payroll. Any savings in social security that are promised are eaten up by what JB charges for the S-corp return and payroll. Dont let this company take advantage of you, if youre going to have them do your taxes, know what you do and dont need.

Used JB for several years because I was recommended by a friend. They aren’t CPA’s, but do a decent job if you’re proactive. Budget accountants, but don’t expect them to hold your hand. They let my LLC expire for 18 months without telling me, I got audited by the IRS and didn’t receive any help from them. Work just fine for a college kid doing sales for their first summer, but much more than that and you’ll want to find someone else. They sent me to collections over a $100 bill, and eventually dropped it after realizing I had never signed any agreement and had terminated my relationship with them 1 year prior.
