Worst tax consulting firm ever n Kansas city. Too bad she is associated with the Potters House. I decided to meet with the IRS and discovered that this first didn’t file 3 years of my taxes after having been paid. The IRS sent them several messages and basically Five Star let them go unchecked. Both Marquita Miller and Naomi Henderson run this firm. I am in the process of bringing litigation to Five Star due to business matter whiich they falsified documents. I opened restaurants throughout the midwest and Five Star assisted my former business partners in stealing a restaurant by chainring the legal name, file an exparte so i couldn’t go to my place of business to change locks, security passwords, and to open the business like nothing ever happened. Same name, same location, same everything, chairs, menus and sba name. The only thing different is i was left off the new business filing so i am not in the middle of litigation to recover my restaurant. Five stat provided tax services but tried dodging the subpoena to not testify about financial documents. Judge finally attached a body tag, which meant they had to come in and testify to under oath. From that, several of their fraudulent activities came to light. So now i’m in the process of suing Five Star, where both Marquita and naomi Henderson will be names in the lawsuit. Five Star refused to provide me my past tax returned to file and have not refunded any of my money. Be aware!

This is the second year that my husband and I have used Five Star Tax & Business Solutions for our income tax preparations and I am incredibly pleased with not only the thorough work that Marquita and her first-rate office staff have provided us, but the speed at which our returns were prepared and ready for pickup is exactly what I would expect from any reputable accountant. Our previous CPA took forever & had several errors with each of our tax filings per year, especially as his business began to grow. When we're talking money and the IRS, there are no room for unapologetic mistakes or errors, which not only cost us unnecessary money, but it also became quite the headache. This is not the case with Five Star Tax & Business Solutions. Immediately, after reaching out to Marquita Miller Joshua I felt both at ease AND understood. She is an absolute pleasure to work with & the atmosphere in her office is a fantastic mixture of empathy, endearment, and a whole lot of professionalism amongst the entire staff. Five stars, honestly doesn't feel like enough to give, but it fits the business name and the first rate service provided, so two thumbs up, word of mouth recommendations and five stars will have to do.

The worst tax Accountant Agency in town. I came to her office on 08/20/2019 for services and assistance with providing direction for my business. My appointment was at 10:00. I came on time. I’ve consulted with other Accountants and they never made you pay a consult fee, however, they did. I came on time and the first thing I was asked for was my consultant fee ($250). I paid the fee, was a little taken back due to having to pay before you even see the accountant, however, I paid. I waited, it was 10:20 when I asked the the secretary when I would see the account at which time she advised me that she was not actually in the office and was running late from a previous appointment and would be coming soon. The accountant came at 10:30 or so, for a 10:00 appointment. I was very upset and wanted to leave, however I stayed at the request of my partner. My partner and I go into her office to discuss the best option for our business structure and she tells us that she would start the new corporation and file the required paperwork. I requested that this be completed in December so that I could be ready to get everything we needed so that we could be in place on January 1, 2020. At this time we paid her an additional $405. December comes around and I received no call and no information. I call the office and her secretary answers and proceeds to ask questions about the type of filing, when it was supposed to be filed etc all, information that should be known if they kept appropriate record. All this and my $605 has been cashed and no real work done. At this time I’m very upset. Marquita gives me a call back several days later stating she understood that she was to start the filing of the business in January. I tell her, specifically and explicitly, that was not the conversation and she becomes indignant. She tells me she may need to contact me when I’ve calmed down. I explain I don’t need her services and would like a refund of my money. She states she would return my money in the form that she received it. I say great and move on. Now, she did send the money certified mail and I was not able to pick it it. I don’t really pay it much attention until I realize she owes me. I call the office on May 4 to ask for my refund. The secretary states she will have Marquita call me. Two days later Marquita calls me back stating she would look into it. A week later, after receiving no follow up call I call back. Once again the secretary takes a message stating she would have her return my call. A day later I call and the secretary stated Marquita has looked into it and has the check info, but due to COVID-19 the banks are closed and when the reopen she will contact me to verify! At this point, I explicitly tell the secretary you must think I am a stupid. All banks are open and still doing business. At this point the Secretary becomes indigent and hangs up. This is the worst excuse for a business I’ve seen in a while. Use them at your own risk. If and when you do, be prepared for her to be late, collect money up front and always have a miscommunication to resolve. Additionally, my business partner sends her an email requesting payment in full by May 21. She writes a return email stating she only wants to communicate via email due to the way I spoke with her office personnel. She continued on to state she was attempting to let me know that she could not meet with her bank manager and was waiting on an appointment with them to see where the cashiers check was. I explained I contacted her bank via their tele banking services where there was a Client Services Personnel to assist M-F 7a-8p and Sat 8a-4p, whom stated could assist with finding out if the check had been cashed and further communication would be with my attorney or courts requesting full refund. I’d like to mention this email was at 5:30 pm. At 7:10 she instant messages my business partner stating “the branch manger had the original check, I just got back from the bank” (Banks don’t keep cashiers checks) Sorry, there is no bank open after 5:00pm.
