Unfortunately, I would advise extreme caution against using this firm as your CPA. Although they handled filing my taxes efficiently, I was provided incorrect information from Mr Chawla about a specific state tax liability question I had. I took his advice as word. This advice ended up being incorrect and was not an adequate interpretation of the law. Listening to his advice will likely cost me thousands in underpayment penalties. I had to hire a tax attorney to clarify my tax situation. When I brought this back to Mr Chawla, he promised to do research and get back to me “by the end of the week”. That was three weeks ago and I’ve yet to hear any follow ups. Suffice to say that I will not be using this firm again.

After 10 years, they arbitrarily decided to apply my refunds to next year's taxes without asking me. They also added a $1500.00 "bookkeeping" charge for reviewing my bank statements. When I called to ask about both, I was told, "Well, you signed them" and "We should have been charging you for the last 10 years". Thanks Varun Chawla
