I have been working with Janssen & Igar on both my personal and business tax returns for decades. I have to admit I was a little apprehensive when the people I had worked with for all that time retired and Helen sold the business to Samantha. My fears were short lived. Samantha and her team picked up right where the previous owners left off. Great professional service, very knowledgeable, and they communicated in an easy to understand manner. If you are a business or have complicated personal returns I highly recommend Janssen & Igar. Samantha and her team are the best.

We had been referred to Samantha and Janssen & Igar by another accounting professional from a larger firm. I am so glad that we were! She provides top notch service and is great at communication when dealing with our annual income tax return. I like the smaller office where I feel that I am a person rather than just a number; Janssen & Igar provides just that feeling. Very happy with her and the firm. Used to be a five star. I used them for years. When my CPA Helen Igar retired I was told to get my information in and they would continue to do my taxes. I then received a notice that they would no longer be doing them. I could not get any of my records back to take to another place. I had already given my CPA information for 2022 and had to do that research all over again because they claimed they couldn’t find it. They said all they could do is give me a copy of my last return. Seriously!!!! Great firm when Helen was there.

My CPA of many years left suddenly right before corporate returns were due earlier this year. I understand that is very chaotic for the firm, I own a small business and I appreciate how difficult staffing issues can be. That does not negate my responsibility to ultimately take care of my customers. I kept asking when our taxes would be filed, kept getting incorrect info from Samantha, they filed an extension because they couldn't process the return and told me the estimated amount to pay, which we paid. When the returns were finally done (and not ready for pick up as I was told so I had to come back the next day) we got a surprise additional bill of over $11k due to using a marketplace plan! Not expecting that, and to add insult to injury Samantha attempted to bill us more than twice what we have ever paid in the past. Despite all of the info being turned in by February we were told they just could have no idea how much additional we would owe - that cannot be correct and has never happened before. I am now dealing with a penalty of $333 because of their incompetence in filing and was told to basically deal with it myself even though it is 100% due to their errors. I would NEVER ever use this company again and have been deeply disappointed with the attitude I received from Samantha in particular.

Janssen & Igar have saved me money and all the head aches related to taxes. Samantha is a wizard, and she has done awesome work for me and my family. A+ can’t say enough!
