I’m the president of a 25-unit condominium association in south Florida. Based on our experience, Accountsult is a grossly negligent and incompetent company. The business claims to specialize in accounting services for condo associations, but we had to terminate them after two years for constantly screwing up and repeatedly violating the terms of our contract. Among their errors: mixing up important owner mailings and sending the wrong ones to the wrong associations; emailing us the financials of a different condo association by mistake (and presumably sending OURS to the wrong recipient too); not paying vendors in a timely manner; and not being able to answer basic budgeting questions. But worst of all, they violated the terms of our contract, which stipulated that all invoices must be approved by two Board members before payment. Accountsult paid a vendor for over two years without getting necessary Board approvals. Even worse, the vendor wasn’t performing the work we were paying them for. When we finally realized this and brought it to Accountsult’s attention—cc’ing the owner, Mark Buchalter—we asked how it was possible that this had happened. No answer. No one bothered to get back to us to explain, to apologize, or to make amends, despite multiple follow-up emails and a certified letter. They simply don’t care. But wait, there’s more. Accountsult requires three month’s notice of termination, which we provided. At that point they stopped paying our vendors and barely responded to emails. (Don’t bother calling them—they’re rarely in the office and you’ll typically just get voicemail.) I had to advance over $10,000 of my own money to cover critical expenses because they stopped doing their job. They also stopped providing our monthly financial statements, another violation of their contract. And when our new management company took over, Accountsult staff all seemed to be on vacation. We couldn’t get them to transfer our Association’s files, even though they’d had three months to plan for the transfer. I’d leave zero stars if I could. Stunningly unprofessional.

I agree with Susan Snyder. If I can give them a "0" i would. They mis allocated funds for 26 units out of 60 in our community. They were told 3 weeks ago to fix them because of election and they are still not doing it. they are terrible. stay away if you can.

This firm is extremely unprofessional, and appears to make accounting errors but does not take responsibility for them,but then to be disrespectful on top of that. I know I will never trust them with my money.

Call to ask what is going because the charge never came through Barbara answer the phone very rude very hostile calls me back threatening me I am a owner in this community and a customer of your business and I expect to be treated better than this
