I've worked with Expat CPA since 2007. Wow, time flies. They are nice, helpful, and easy to work with. Also very good communicators. It's very helpful to have their expertise on foreign corporations and more. The price is fair and I highly recommend their services.

I have been using Expat CPA for almost 10 years now, and extremely satisfied. They have always prepared and submitted my returns on time. Despite the time difference (I live in Europe), they have always been incredibly responsive. I recommend them wholeheartedly!

The least competent accountant I've ever used - Stay far away! I used Expat CPA to file my tax return and my s corp election in 2021, because I was living abroad and they seemed like the experts in the foreign earned income exclusion. They misfiled my tax return in 3 times, resulting in a discrepancy between taxes owed of ~$50,000. If I had submitted any of those tax returns to the IRS and was audited, I would have lost, and would have possibly gotten a criminal charge. In June, I started receiving letters from the IRS saying that they also didn't file my S Election correctly, and that I would need to refile my 2021 tax return and correct my S election. I reached out to ExpatCPA almost 2 months ago about the issue and Geralyn said she would forward the issue to Jeff. Two weeks went by and I didn't get a reply. I followed up again. Nothing. Followed up again, nothing. They have completed ignored my emails about fixing their mistake. I'm currently filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to try to get a reply from them. Don't bother with these guys - Plenty of better CPA firms out there, ESPECIALLY for the price these guys charge.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I am very grateful for the wonderful work EXPAT CPA team has done for me every year since 2008. One of the big four were doing my returns before 2008 and EXPAT CPAs dedication, knowledge and efficiency is at par if not better. I can certainly vouch for the wonderful work EXPAT CPA team does, and would highly recommend them for US filers in US or abroad.

Poor customer service. Made it seem as if the service offered on the website that inspired me to reach out was non existent. When I emailed back for clarity I got no response and no response after a follow up email. It’s been 10 days since I’ve heard anything.

Since retiring and moving abroad, I used the Expat CPA tax service for the first time this year (2024). Until now, I have relied on a family member in the States to collect my tax documents, schedule an appointment with their tax person -- who was unfamiliar with expat issues -- and conduct the meeting over the phone. Searching for an alternative, I discovered Expat CPA. Their service provided a secure method to upload my tax information at my convenience and to have my tax return completed by an expat specialist. I received timely service and also utilized the option to arrange a Zoom meeting to ask questions specific to my situation. From my first interaction with Expat CPA, I found their team professional, responsive, and appreciative of my business. Without a doubt, I will be back to file my taxes again next season.

Ive been a cleint of Jon Harvey, Jeff & Team for over 10 years during my time overseas and now in the US; they are very knowlegeable of expatriate tax requirements/laws and the various administrivia relating to international and US tax filers.

This outfit knows nothing about foreign tax systems although they call themselves Expat CPA. I ended up paying thousands of dollars more in Japanese taxes because they did not advise me on how to file my foreign taxes or whether I even had to. Only after I was slapped with $5000 in Japanese taxes did they say `I really dont understand your issue. The front guy Lewis is not even a CPA, although he calls himself one. These people can file your American taxes as anyone can using Turbo. But forget about getting any foreign tax advice. User be ware.
