Very poor experience. I spent one hour with Matt providing him with all the necessary documentation for the purpose of obtaining some advice on the tax consequences of selling some stock in my parents' estate for gifting purposes. It was a simple question, but instead he focused on an immediate annuity owned for 30 years which I quickly confirmed afterward contained no cash value, just as I explained in the meeting. Instead of answering any of my questions directly, he flaunted his degrees. Then he commented that you don't ask a mechanic how to fix your car, so why am I asking him estate tax questions. Even after my email confirmation on the status of the annuity, he never emailed back any advice or recommendation on stock sales. So what impression did I get after this encounter? He is a busy man, don't ask questions, don't question his authority, and don't expect any advice for just a one hour $325 fee. Either pay to play or don't come back. He seemed more about enriching himself than helping a potential client or building a longer term relationship. Eventually, I will need an accountant for more than just a few tactical questions. I presume Matt provides competent services to clients who are willing to leave everything in his hands. However, he was so arrogant and condescending to me during our meeting, I will definitely find someone else to handle my parent's affairs.

I had a brief initial phone conversation with attorney MATTHEW R. DEMARK about my State vehicle Tax problem and he was very helpful and performed in a completely fiduciary manner for me. He freely advised me of my best steps to resolve this issue. I would certainly recommend and retain him if/when I need further legal council to resolve my issue.

I appreciate so much the how Mathew made the time for us in our dire need to get the Power of Attorney documents witness and notarized while my Father was in the hospital. Not only did he fit us in his busy schedule the next day he also came up to the hospital room to do it. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and professional. One thing that impressed me the most was that he had what was best for our situation and needs in mind. If I am ever in need of assistance again Riverwood Legal & Accounting would be my first choice. Matthew Demak was a very helpfull and accommodating. I called him on a Thursday and explained that I needed someone to notarized paperwork for power of attorney, and I needed it by Friday. He said they were busy, but he could get us in at 12:00 on Friday. He came to the hospital and meet us there, went over the paperwork we had, to make sure everything was right. I can't say enough, he took time out of his busy schedule, to come and help us less than 24 hour notice. He was very kind, respectfel, helpful and knew what he was doing.
