This is the first one star Google Review I have ever given and I hope it is the last. I don't like disparaging people's name but I feel I must write this to make sure people don't go down this road. The accountant assigned to me was Brian Brown and he was very difficult to reach via phone or email, calls from the front desk would forward to voicemail 95% of the time. The icing on the cake was a 10x underestimation of taxes (5k vs 50k) which put me in a bind right at the October 15th deadline. The return was filed late and penalties were not offered to be picked up on the failure to pay in a timely fashion. Pricing was very competitive, but unfortunately you receive what you pay for.

The team at Account Above are amazing. They took care of my taxes quickly and efficiently even though I had a couple snags that could’ve caused a lot of problems. I highly recommend Account Above. I will definitely be bringing my taxes to them again.

Ryan Johnson came as a recommendation from a good friend. After waiting a month for the tax season to end, we engaged in conversation relating to a real estate transaction. He was slow to get back with the initial information he needed to proceed with his research. After providing this information he went silent for weeks. He failed to return multiple messages left with his front desk and didn't return e-mails. I informed my friend of our experience and soon after received an apologetic e-mail from Ryan. I followed up with a few more questions but still haven't heard back and it's been over a week. When dealing with finances, I would expect higher level of professionalism. Very disappointing.

I’ve had it with their McDonald’s level drive thru CPA work. 1) This company does not know how to communicate with their clients. They filed my taxes for 2019 without any review by me. There ended up being three glaring mistakes that have now cost me $16k. I received the shocking paperwork from the IRS, immediately sent it to Account Above for explanation and have received nothing from Account Above. 2) One of their accountants called my bookkeepers to tell them how to do their jobs. That upset the bookkeeping company (who work for me, not the CPAs). In the process, I was charged by the bookkeepers for all of that extra time dealing with the drama of one contractor telling another contractor how to do their job. They’re young CPAs who are just wayyyyy out of their league.

I consulted Ryan after learning I might be paying this year because of a tax table change I did not plan for. He gave me the confidence to file my own taxes using purchased software saving me $$$ on prep fees. I did pay the Uncle, but nice to find an honest businessman.
