We found Battershell & Nichols after our bookkeeper moved onto a different position at the end of 2020, with still quite a bit of uncertainty in our church - we decided to try outsourced accounting (opposed to hiring someone). We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Battershell over the years - we've learned a lot, the reporting for our church finances are very clear, the firm is so responsive and helpful! We are excited to continue to work with the remote accounting team!

Our church recently engaged the remote accounting services of Battershell and Nichols (B&N) to do the work which had been done in-house by church staff. The transfer from our retiring staff to B&N occurred in a smooth and timely manner to coincide with the new fiscal year. In addition to providing accounting, payroll, and financial reporting services, B&N offers educational webinars and is available to answer questions (or they may ask questions). Outsourcing to nonprofit accounting specialists was our choice versus hiring a new bookkeeper and I highly recommend B&N.

The competent, professional CPA and bookkeeping staff at Battershell & Nichols provide our church with a consistent and comprehensive accounting system. We finally have a reliable system that provides us with the timely information we need to manage our finances effectively. I expected this would be the case, but what I didn't expect, and what has been a pleasant surprise, is the amount of data that is available to us at our fingertips. Because they are laser-focused on religious organizations, we get the benefit of their expertise whenever we have a question. We know they understand our business and support our mission. For years our church used staff or volunteers to manage our accounting and create our financial reports. Every time those people changed, so do how we recorded and reported items - thus it was difficult for us to see clear historical trends. Battershell & Nichols has given us consistency in our accounting and reporting. In addition, they have become a trusted financial partner that we often call for advice and solutions. The fact that they are focused on churches allows them to bring us ideas we may have not thought about. We love working with them.

Battershell and Nichols did great work for my companies, MarinEyes and Marin Ophthalmic Surgery Center, for many years. I retired about 6 years ago. They continue to do my personal returns and give requested advice throughout the year. They are organized, fast and accurate. I cannot recommend them more highly! Sorry there isnt a 6 Star option!
