I hate to leave a one star review, but I have made many attempts to contact Victoria to confirm that my franchise tax was filed (which was confirmed by an office staff member) after receiving notices saying my Franchise Tax form had not been filed. I was finally told that Victoria “filed everyone’s together the day before they left on their cruise”. Never got an email to confirm and when I called back, l only get a message that the vm is full and cannot leave a message. Do not go there in person, there is no one there. This is the last thing I ever saw coming from Victoria. So disappointed.

It pains me to give a single star review, but similar to most people recently I have had terrible luck getting ahold of Victoria. They were supposed to setup a business for me, I paid for it and was assured it would be done by the end of that week. Well that was over 10 weeks ago. I’ve called the office(voicemail full), I’ve made appointments, I’ve showed up to an empty office. She gave me her cell which I used as a last resort and she answered! She acted totally fine, didn’t acknowledge the recent ghost behavior, she just assured me she would check into it and let me know. It’s been about 3 weeks since then, I’ve texted her a couple times with no answer. More recently when calling her cell, the voicemail is also full. Seems to me whatever happened to set off this chain reaction has made her/them just throw up hands and give up. It’s a shame because I’ve been using them for like 5 years with no issue, but this is way too long and is inexcusable for a business.

DO NOT USE FOR OFF-SEASON NEEDS! We have been loyal customers for many years and have never had an issue with Shield until this year. We filed for an extension (which we don't know even happened) and have been unable to connect with anyone at this company all month. We've made online phone consultation appointments, sent multiple emails to a couple of email addresses, left voicemails, and we even made an in-person appointment today. My husband is currently there with no one on site. This has been such an awful off-season experience, that I am just dumbfounded and is not a way to conduct business for something this important with loyal clients.

Used Shield Tax Service last year, no problems. This year has turned out to be a different story. Victoria was able to complete our taxes this year on time without issue, but then we received a corrected W-2 from my husband's employer in late April. I called and spoke with Mike and he advised an email address where I could send this correction and they would file the 1040X for us. The next week, I began calling to ensure they received my email, but the phone went directly to voice mail and no messages could be left. I finally walked in one day in late April and Mike found the email, unopened, in their system; he filed the 1040X for me on the spot. Wonderful. But now, over 2 months later, the IRS does not show the 1040X was even submitted. I continued to call the office but the answering machine picks up and you still cannot leave a message. I did another walk in a few weeks ago on a Monday and Victoria was with a client. I explained what was going on, she advised "the IRS has been hacked but no one knows this yet", took my information, said she would check on it, and call me back. No phone call. Decided to make an appointment online via their website to have a face-to-face {because the office # is still not being answered and not allowing messages}, scheduled an appointment for 7/1/24, received confirmation and reminder emails, showed up at my appointed time to find a note on the door: "out sick with Strep, sorry for the inconvenience". No cancellation email, no phone call. I understand illness, but someone should be making phone calls to reschedule appointments. I am a big believer in supporting small business, but I will not be returning and using their services.

Worst service having problems. Have called office with them saying they are on vacation. Between Mike and Victoria it is a total mess. IRS now saying they never received return. Spoke to Victoria and said she fixed. Which is a total false statement. Do not use.

We had an appt with them in March. We were missing 1 document needed to complete it in office. I was able to track it down and have it to them by the end of the day. They were not able to get our paperwork completed for a week and a half after our appointment. It was finally signed and electronically filed. Here we are 9 weeks later (plus many voicemails left to the company) and the IRS still does seem to have record of our taxes, we don't have our refund and per the contact that reached out to us, they're on vacation. Wish they would have looked into it when we first started calling them. Just as a follow up. We filed with Shield Tax service in March, it's now August and we still have yet to get our taxes or have a follow up from Shield Tax service with any assistance. We filed with them last year and absolutely loved them. I'm just so disappointed in their service, upset that I still don't have my taxes and absolutely positive I will not be using them again in the future.

We have had more than enough trouble with shield this year. We filed our taxes in January with them. After weeks of the IRS saying they didn't have our return they FINALLY looked into it and told us it was an issue with the 3rd party transmitting to the IRS. They told us they would go directly to the IRS and bring a paper copy of our return in the beginning of March they went to that meeting and reassured us that the IRS told them that they had our return and all was good. We waited another 2.5 weeks for the IRS to get our stuff. At that point on March 13th Mike went to the IRS who then confirmed they DID NOT have our return. He met with my husband who signed a paper copy of our return to be submitted on March 14th. Not sure if anything is done correctly this time as a paper return takes a while to get back usually 6+ weeks. During the meeting when my husband signed our paper copies Mike told him due to all of our trouble they would be refunding our filing fees through their firm. I have called and asked about it and 3 weeks later we still haven't seen that. Over the last 10 weeks we have called their office countless times to get updates on what we need to do or just something from them saying what's going on with our file and we do not get calls back. The receptionist says I'll write it down but they're busy and they never call us back. I called after getting a second opinion from another firm that told me to get the receipt of filing and they only spoke to me when I said I had gotten a second opinion. Here we are 10 weeks after filing getting continuous empty promises from this firm. I understand it's tax season and they are busy but your customer service is what keeps your clientele and they fall drastically short of the mark on that one.

Hey are awesome to work with. This is the second year they did our taxes. Last year was advised what to do to keep taxes down. Did it and this year our taxes were down and it all worked out beautifully. I trust them and feel like they are looking after me. Thank you

We have used Victoria since 2019. She has reviewed our taxes, she answers all of our questions. She knows all the forms and stays current on IRS expectations and rules. She always looks at the best way to make sure we get back the most from our year. Highly recommend. You can expect to spend 1 hour there.
