Is there less than 1 star!? Left my taxes in January, its July 24 still not done!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help me someone! Stay away from them!

I have been a long time customer of WH&B for my tax preparation. Up until last year they where great to deal with, all that changed this year. I called the beginning of Feb to schedule an appointment for my taxes and was told all the in person appointments were booked until after April 15th. I was told if I didn't need to be seen in person I could drop off my documents and my taxes would be done by the deadline. Come April 8th no word yet so I called. I was told they were in review. April 12th no word so I called again, still not done. They called later that day and said I overpaid and did not need an extension. The next week I got an e-mail saying they filed an extension???? Two more weeks and no word, called again and was told they would check and call back. Another week no word. Finally just went and got my documents back and had them done elsewhere. Turns out I did in fact have to pay in. This after making financial decisions based on thinking I had a refund coming. Took three months and got nothing from them, and my taxes are not that complicated. Done with them.

Poor communication. I decided to go a different direction and find a new tax person because of this and now she won't send me documents that I need, claiming I've become "disrespectful". It's just business, that's not disrespect. Not giving someone their documents when you said you would... Now THAT could be seen as disrespectful.

My wife and I dealt with Marcia Pelton, while she was great handling our taxes for the year 2022, she WAS TERRIBLE in the dealing with an audit I had with the IRS. Long story short, she never responded to the audit and so now this year the IRS went in and removed $5,000 from our tax return for the year 2023. She actually told me over the phone that she was going to respond to the audit and she never actually did. I am now handling the matter completely on my own cause I have lost ALL trust in CPAs. She has since ghosted us, and will not return ANY phone calls I have made to her. I'd recommend dealing with just about any other CPA in the United States over her. She also took MUCH too long to file my sister and brother in-laws return and now they owe late fees 😑

Our CPA passed away and I cannot believe how difficult it was finding someone to take over the mess of paperwork we have! It took months of waiting for call backs, etc., but when I contacted WHB, I got immediate assistance. We went to their "open house" last night and met up with a few people we knew who have been happily using their services, including one who has been with them for about 30 years. That says a lot. The lady that handled our paperwork is Marcia and she is more than what we had expected for a CPA. In addition to being very educated and experienced, she was very personable and easy to talk to. In fact, we talked to a several staff members there who were also pleasant.
