I used Ratliff for my 2018 and 2019 tax prep and was so disappointed. To start I've never met Ratliff. Not once. The only people I ever spoke to were the ladies at the front (who were all very nice). I wasn't even sure what to do if I had a question, because the entire relationship was just me dropping stuff off at the counter. There was zero personal contact with the person actually preparing my taxes. Frankly, I kind of got the impression that my business didn't earn enough to catch their interest. I went into this hoping to build a solid professional relationship, because my business was growing, and I wanted advice and legal/tax direction. Instead, I just get a huge workbook pamphlet in the mail asking me for my hard data so they can just plug it in and send my return off. Which brings to the reason I finally dumped Ratliff. For 2018, for some completely irritating reason, they automatically opted me in to having my refund applied to my future tax liabilities. This was completely no good, because I have a system for calculating my estimated payments and this gunked up the works. I had to step in and ask them why I was opted into this. I was told that's just what they do. They opted me out, upon my request, for federal, but left it for state (I was okay with that). 2019 rolls around, and I fill out their epic pamphlet detailing all my income and loss and specifics. When I went to pick up my return, I was very surprised that I suddenly owe for state! Turns out, they FORGOT that I'd pre-paid my state with the refund from the previous year. I had to stand in their lobby over that dumb counter and calculate it myself. At this point, I'm doing my own P/L, recording all my information into a nicely tabulated pamphlet for them, and then correcting my own return. Jesus wept, I could have done this myself for free! So I wrote Ratliff an email personally outlining my issues and frustration and demanding...honestly anything. A discount. An apology. One word that I'd been heard. While I was waiting for this acknowledgement, what I got instead, at the actual height of the Covid pandemic, was a bill for the original amount WITH INTEREST for not having paid promptly enough! I'll give it two stars because the women working the front were top notch and very kind. I can't speak for this Ratliff fellow. Never laid eyes on him once, never spoken to him, can't even get an email reply when I'm let down by his service. I'm just done with Ratliff and I'm so let down. My business absolutely sky rocketed this year, as planned, and I wish I'd had the helpful relationship with a CPA that I wanted so desperately to build.

I'm own a small business. Last year my previous CPA dropped the ball and it cost me lots of money. I panicked and contacted Ratliff CPA Firm and explained the horrible situation I was in. They took me on during last year's tax season and saved me quite a chunk of change correcting my previous CPA mistakes. Ratliff CPA saved me lots of money last year. Since then I have used Ratliff CPA ( all of 2018) This CPA firm helped me with dverything I needed to get done to protect my business and my income. After a full year of this incredible team guiding me and protecting my money I am absolutely amazed that my business grew substantially and yet my tax burden was much less than it was last year. There is no substitution for quality, with Ratliff CPA firm you get quality.

I have worked with both Hennie and John and I impressed with both. Not only are they qualified CPA's with a depth of experience, they are both really nice guys and always willing to take the time to understand my business and help me plan for the future. Great firm, highly recommended.
