Stopped doing taxes for small businesses they incorporated less than a year ago. Was told this was not the direction the new owners wanted. Better not to take your business here if you dont want to be dropped

I been a client over 10 years, in the past 2 years the service has decline dramatically. This is no longer a small business, it was purchase by an out of state corporation. It’s our first year being forced to do an extension with no light at the en of the tunnel as when they’ll be able to take care of my tax filling for 2023. They will not return call and give you plenty of excuse's. Save your self a headache and start looking for local accountant that care about their clients. Shame on Bob for leaving his loyal clients up to fend for themselves.⚠️ I’ve spoken to 3 new account managers with in the last 3 month’s they all have disappeared after a month, it’s been over 6 months and theirs no sign that my tax return will be done by July. It’s only progressively getting worst by the minute.

I hit the jackpot having Greg Randall as my accountant. His warm, professional manner puts me at ease and each year is a consistently positive experience . Greg is a family man and i am certain he makes all his clients feel like they are valued in the way he would want his family to be valued and treated. In the busy stressful tax season Greg makes me feel like it is his privilege to be my accountant! His mood is uplifting! This has been my experience working with Greg for years. Chamberland and company hit the jackpot with Greg Randall. Everyone i have encountered at Chamberland in person and on the phone makes me feel they are happy to see me and to help me. I am a grateful patron!

The positive reviews of this company from several months ago are very misleading. While this was formerly a wonderful firm and a strong supporter of local small businesses, Robert Chamberland sold the business to Prevail Accounting, and since then, they have destroyed the company. Most of the staff are no longer there, and while the company has not officially stated why, it appears that most were laid off. As a small business owner, I worked with Chamberland for two years and had nothing but wonderful things to say, even referring other small business owners who needed accounting services. After October 2023, no work was done on my account. Important documents were not completed, and they almost missed the deadline to extend my business tax return. As I've transitioned to a new accountant, they refuse to pay out a full refund, informing me they deducted money to "compensate the company for time spent on providing historical documents and transition to new accountant" - I only needed a new accountant because Chamberland stopped doing the work, and could not give me a timeline as to when work would be completed. I'm not a large business, and what might seem like a small refund to some makes a big difference to me, and I'm now out over $800 as I pay a new accountant to complete the work Chamberland did not do. Friends and acquaintances who also use Chamberland also had similar experiences. One received a call notifying them they would have to outsource all of their payroll and bookkeeping to PA. While I obviously cannot prove it, my suspicion is that Prevail intended to gut the Chamberland office and reroute business to PA. I imagine they want to keep a small presence in RI to make it look like you are working with a local small business when, in actuality, you are sending your business to a much larger company in PA. I am posting this review because I want small business owners to be aware of what they are signing up for when they seek this company's business. I think it's horrible that they are destroying a business that Robert created, profiting off of his good name and reputation, while harming local RI businesses to make a profit for Prevail.

Worst place ever!! Michele is beyond unprofessional and communication was even worse. She did our taxes wrong and then was rude with us when we finally got in touch her asking her legitimate questions. She has too many personal issues that affect her work and blames her “forgetfulness” on her clients. Shame on her and shame on you as a company for allowing an employee to swear at your clients. I will tell EVERYONE about this.

Wonderful and professional experience always! Michele has done my taxes every year since I needed to file and has always provided prompt correspondence and service, and gives informative answers to any questions I have at any time. This is my first year going to Chamberland for my taxes, and I will never go anywhere else! Michele was very professional and provided prompt correspondence and service. She was very informative and answered any questions I had. Taxes are usually frustrating, but Michele was wonderful and made the entire process easy, and I recieved my refund in no time! I recommend Michele and Chamberland to anyone who is looking for a new perparer! Thank you Michele!!

A 3.5 star rating is like a 1 star if you think about it. I had nothing but a bad experience with the payroll division of this company. I tried for a year or so to use them and it never really worked out. You might have a better time then me, but 1 Star is being generous:-)

Top shelf, class act firm. My business has more than doubled with the help of Rob, Valerie and staff. These folks dont just do the work, they helped us prepare for any contingency. They were the first call i got during the pandemic and helped us not just to survive, but thrive!!!! Cant recommend these folks enough!!!!!

Chamberland is our go to for accounting and payroll. Erin (and everyone else in the office) is always so friendly and helpful.
