It was our hope to find a great CPA that was Dave Ramsey endorsed after moving to the F-M area in 2019. Unfortunately there was only one option. I met with the tax professional a couple times in preparation of the 2019 filings as I had some self-employment to take care of. As per the website, I was prepared to spend about $400 on tax preparation, after never paying more than $280 in previous years. Come do find out, it was almost 5x what I had previously paid. Fast forward to November, I received my first ever IRS inquiry. I reached out to ClearPath and they wanted a $200 retainer and an additional $200/hour to engage with the IRS. So, in short, I went to them for help with the self-employment, and that is what came into question. They were/are unwilling to stand behind their professional services and I had to go elsewhere. After this experience, I asked around to colleagues and experts in the area and found out others have had less desirable experiences too. Personally, I would recommend someone else that has a better track record of customer support and not gouging clients for services.
