I am bummed out that i have to do this. Kelly seemed like such a straight shooter. 1/26/2023 was the day I became a "client" of kelly tate cpa. With that date in mind it wasn't till 4/14/23 that anyone responded or reached out to me. They then proceeded to file for an extension. I had given them my current and two years of back taxes to help me out with plus stimulus checks that I hadn't received. I had asked for a specific series of events to occur so I could be up to date and my 2022 fillings wouldn't come out of pocket. Well needless to say they didn't do as we had agreed upon and I took 11 months for them to do so. If you have a lot of money these are probably the guys for you. But if you don't have a large amount of money it seems here you go to the bottom of the stack. Super nice folks very relatable but I don't feel like they could be concerned with what I needed as a customer. Maybe others have a great experience but I did not. Maybe take the chance for yourself but unfortunately for me I won't be using them again. But again they are super nice folks kelly Bryan and tammy, so maybe with this new move and merger they may be able to provide a better service for future customers. Thanks guys for getting my stuff done, sorry for having to do this ~Kevin~

I have never dealt with a more incompetent group of people in my life. I’m honestly amazed that they are in business. My husband and I came to them to file for an ITIN. This required that they do an adjustment to our 2019 taxes. We also hired them to do our 2020 return, as I figured we may as well get both done. Our first meeting was Jan 5th, and they assured me that it would take no time to move the process along. By March, they still had not turned in our 2019 adjustment. Only after my urging that we needed this filed ASAP was this done. 2 months later, we received notice that our ITIN request had been denied due to them having not adjusted the filing at all; simply having turned in my husband's ITIN request with the same tax return I had filed in 2019. When I brought this to their attention, they were clearly embarrassed and refiled immediately, stating that they had no explanation for the oversight. Figuring that maybe this was just a one time issue, we moved forward with our 2020 taxes but when it was time for them to file our 2020 taxes, I double-checked all documents. Turned out they forgot to file our state taxes as requested. I had to go back to them and have them add that in. At that time (and according to the documents they gave me) my husband and I were to receive a $600 return from the District of Colombia. Today I got a request for a $1000 payment from them citing issues with our return that "needed correcting." Mind you, we still have no word on the ITIN number, so who knows how they screwed that up. These people are a disaster. Stay as far away as possible.

I gave him several of my w2s and 10-99s. I looked at my return a few days later and found out he used one of my w2s federal I'd number as my social security number. How the heck do you make a mistake like that. That means the IRS would receive my taxes with the wrong social. I went back into the office and they claimed they saw the mistake before they sent it out. They refused to give me a refund on their mistake. I would never use them again.

Kelly Tate has done our corporate taxes now for a few years after my CPA of over 20 years past away. Kelly and his assistants have been great and provided an excellent service over the last 3 years for me. I have referred friends and family to him for tax work.
