It’s been a disappointing experience at Valor CPA. My previous CPA retired and referred me to Julian and I was really excited to work with him and his staff. Because of my previous CPA was excellent, I had similar expectations from Julian’s office. But, the experience I had was totally the opposite. I had one minute phone consultation with Julian, and per his request, I’ve uploaded all required documents to the portal within the week, as I promised. Then, I emailed him and let him know that I’ve uploaded everything and if there are any missing items I needed to provide to let me know. Days go by and no confirmation or acknowledgement from Julian that he received my email. I understand it’s tax season and expected him to be super busy. So, I waited a whole week before sending him an another email. And still no reply. All I expected was for him to just acknowledge that he’s received the documents on the portal and that he will review them soon. Since I’ve never worked with his firm, I wanted to make sure I was using the portal correctly. A simple acknowledgement would have shown consideration and professionalism. I provided all my personal documents and for him to not acknowledge made me uneasy. So, I phoned the office and explained to his assistant that I have not gotten any confirmation from Julian. She was very nonchalant and said he’s been very busy and has deadlines. Well, of courses, we all have deadlines! It’s tax season! All I needed was for Julian to confirm that he has my docs and that he will be working on my taxes before the deadline. She just said she will give him the message. He never called me back or replied even after my phone call, expressing my concern! They gave no instructions or guidance to reassure me that they will be working on my taxes. This experience has been a total head scratcher. They lack communication and complete professionalism. There is no way I can trust this office to handle my taxes.
