Sherri Elsasser, Shelia Crum and the rest of their team are wonderful people who you can trust. We’ve been using them since 2017 and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Sherri told us, “If you meet with me during the year, I can help you plan your taxes to your best benefit. If you meet with me after the year ends, I’m only a historian for the IRS.” This nuanced approach keeps us strategic in our tax planning and simplifies the annual work of tax returns. We recommend Elsasser and Crum to friends and are often delighted to learn that our friends already use them.

Highly respected firm that has been doing my and my families taxes for years. They are very knowledgeable and always willing to answer any question you have.

Looking to get your taxes done? Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else!! We used Elsasser, Crum and Associates for our 2022 taxes and it was a nightmare! So much so that a year later I’m still disappointed in their service, communication, and professionalism. We were looking for someone new to do our taxes for 2022 and had hoped to create a financial relationship with a local company. I called ESA at the recommendation of someone else. They were nice enough on the phone and answered my very basic questions. We took in all our paperwork ahead of Valentine’s Day and then waited…and waited and waited. With no word from them, I called them at the beginning of March to check in. They said they were in progress, and we’d hear something soon. Great! 2 more weeks later and no word, I called again to get the same answer. They said they were busy, they had taken on too many new people, but they promised it would be done soon. Okay, I have no choice than to trust you. 2 more weeks later and it’s the beginning of April. Our taxes are not that complex! So, I called again to only be given the same answer. Finally, in the days ahead of taxes being due I called again. Nope, not done. Still one someone’s desk and waiting for review. They promised it would be done. Each time I called all I asked for was confirmation that they had everything they needed to ensure there would be no last-minute issues. I’m not a tax expert, that’s why I’m using you! I’d be promised a call and never get one. Finally, two days before taxes were due, I took off an afternoon from work and went in. I walked in and they asked if I had been called to tell me my taxes had been finished. I said no, I’m worried! What is going on?! They went to check and said it’s waiting on review. I asked to speak to someone else and was told no one was available. That’s okay! I’ve got my phone, headphones, and water. I’ll wait until someone is. They said it might be hours and I said that’s fine. I’m not leaving until I talk to someone. Less than 15 minutes and someone was magically able to talk to me. Of course, our taxes were still not done, but at least I had spoken to someone. Finally, the night before taxes were due – mine were done. Ohhh but come to find out they never asked us to complete all the correct paperwork. They need signatures and things from us. Are you kidding me?! My husband had to take off work last minute to go and sign paperwork for them. The entire experience was the most disappointing and frustrating experience. When I voiced my displeasure at this process I was told, “Other people had more complex taxes and issues to be resolved, so mine just kept getting to the bottom of the stack” and that they “had taken on too many new people”. Neither of these are my faulty and neither should have impacted my taxes and their completion to this level. One of the owners, Sherri Elsasser, said it was her fault and asked me not to speak to her employees even though I was calm, kind and just asked the question. She did not apologize and was incredibly dismissive. Do yourself a favor and use Turbo Tax or find someone else to help you because ESA does not appear to care about regular people with basic taxes and a few questions.
