Really loved working with Mark Chapman on our small business. We were new, showing up with every single paper receipt and Mark showed us everything we needed to know and did all this hard work at a reasonable price, $250! Mark filed a couple years of taxes for us but instead of following Mark when he left, we wanted to stay loyal to WRTax and went with a new accountant, Bob. Instead of showing up with tons of paper receipts, we had everything on a hard drive, separated in files, ready for Bob. Unbeknownst to my husband and I, Bob filing invoice was over double what Mark was charging us! With everything being more prepared, more organized than Mark's time with us (Sorry Mark!) and with the same filing forms being issued, we were bewildered by such an increase. When asked, Mark left us a message stating that it did take a lot of time and effort for everything to "make sense", which we understand. And that, if we wanted to lessen our WRTax invoice, to present him with totals for every account ourselves. Uh, okay... We're not sure if Bob is just that inexperienced that it took him such a great time to do this, being compared to what and how we gave Mark our previous returns, we thought we made this a breeze for him. Bob stated about 12-15 hours were used in preparing our return, making that $38-$47.5 per hour, which as a small business, we can not afford; especially, when it has been shown by the same company, that it could be done for less. Small business' beware. We regret not following Mark Chapman. He was the best and really cultivated that business-business friendship.
