Like many of the others here, ive had my taxes messed up. The first few years no issues. The very first thing I asked was if Kathy was familiar with out of state taxes. She claimed she was. I’m prior military and sold a house in tax year 2021, gave Kathy my 1099-S that year reporting the sale. She did nothing with it. I didn’t find that out til I started getting letters from the California FTB saying I needed to file a return and owed money. I owned that home for over 5 years and know about the exemption for capital gains. We tell Kathy about it she says she will take care of it and we don’t owe. She says she sent certified mail with our FEDERAL return (not non resident California return) to the FTB. They ignore because that’s not what they are asking for. I consulted tax attorneys to figure out what I needed to do and they all said it’s best if your current preparer just files the return. How can you claim a tax exemption if your taxes for the state weren’t filed? I explain to Kathy (if you know Kathy her pride is big and she knows what she’s doing) she ignores it and says she will handle it. Then I get ghosted, I’ve sent emails and called multiple times. Nothing. So now matters will go into my hands. I’ve reported her to the BBB and IRS. And after I get this taken care of with a REPUTABLE CPA she should hope my penalties and interest aren’t significant due to her negligence…

Held on to my taxes for over 5 months. I called repeatedly to get answers to see if she was almost done. Still called and tried to pick it my paperwork because she lied and said it was done. When i finally got a hold on someone, it was a lady at the desk , and the door was closed to Kathy office stating she is only doing taxes for people that owe. She didn’t do my taxes at all!! So unorganized, unprofessional, and lied to me. The. Stated I was getting a refund and was waiting for a pin so I could sign electronically!! LIED!! I can not even write everything she did to me!! The lies and horror of dealing with her is unbelievable!!

If I could give this no stars I would!! DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!! She absolutely messed up my mother’s taxes and then completely refused to answer or respond back to her. She filed them wrong then refused to make it right while my mother is stuck paying for the mistakes she made. I am in disbelief and will be reporting this business to the BBB.

We have been going so many years she never fails us friendly and good people.. she tell you what you need and she good it might take a little time getting back with you but she gets to you some its just better to call . You have to realize it just her and husband..

The absolute WORST experience I've EVER had getting taxes done. The constant lies, mistakes and unresponsiveness is beyond believable! First time around, she left off one of my husbands side jobs (MAJOR red flag is she didn't want me to go through my paperwork with her. She said not to and to just leave the folder). After many emails to her (with no response), phone calls with messages (no response), we FINALLY got a hold of her and she added the income. Then, she had our son added to the original taxes, but we couldn't claim him this year due to his mother claiming him. She was supposed to take him off. Again, after many emails, phone calls etc.,(we even went to the "office" (which is downstairs in her home) that was closed in the middle of the day, so we rang her Ring doorbell and left a message there. She had the audacity to act like we were wrong for going to the office and then leaving a ring message since she wasn't responding AT ALL to our calls and emails). She finally emailed us the "Corrected" version of our taxes that were still wrong. She didn't take our son off. THEN, she says "he is supposed to be on there, I will send you an email as to why"... guess what... NEVER got an email. She then lied to us and said she sent our taxes to the city. As a precaution, I called them and no, she didn't. And the city said she doesn't even have the software to send them to the city!!! So, I had to go to the city, where, guess again... they were WRONG! The city fixed them for us! So... back to our Federal taxes. She electronically sent them in and told us we were getting a refund. She did actually turn them in but.... you know where I am going with this... they were WRONG!!! So, we end up getting a letter from the IRS.... not only do we OWE, but now we owe late fees because she LIED and said we were getting a refund!!! And we paid her a VERY good amount of money to "do" our taxes! PLEASE read all the reviews and see that many, many people have issues with her lying, blaming, and not responding. I wish I had done more research before using her.

It would be less of a headache to just do your taxes yourself. She got loud w me and my girlfriend after she blamed us for her filling out our address wrong. Our correct address was on our lease we also gave her. I somehow only received 1800 after she told me I was going to get a little over 3000 back. After calling her 3 times within a week she finally reached out to me and told me to send the paperwork she needed to help me which I did right after I got off the phone w her. It’s almost been a month since I’ve sent her the paperwork she said she needed to help me, still no word or an email saying she received the paperwork. I’ll remove this rating after I hear from her. I guess I’ve gotta keep calling her til she answers again. Extremely unprofessional and rude. Just because I paid her already doesn’t make me any less important than her other clients because she so “busy”. Simple tax return, one kid and one job. I thought the whole point in paying for them to be done was for convenience and for them to be correct, apparently this is not the case w Kathy.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!! Kathy has done my taxes a few years in a row and last year (2022) she messed up my tax return. I’m not exactly sure what she did to mess up so bad but I got audited at 19 years old!!! I filed with her in February of 2022 and did not receive my return until august of 2022. I kept getting mail from the irs saying they were extending my return and they needed 90 more days to look into my situation (I got that letter 2 times)Not only that but I had to call her and bug her about my tax return and she told me the check was at her house. My check should have never went to her house and it was not a check from the irs. It was a check SHE wrote out in my name from her bank account. I’m not sure if she’s out here scamming people but I was told my return was gonna be 2800 and I got less than 1400 back. I addressed her with my concerns and she was nothing but rude and not helpful at all. She simply told me to get in touch with the irs (which is quite literally impossible and her job) For how much she charges, you’d think she knew how to do her job let alone run a business. Never ever ever use J&K. Incredibly unprofessional and if you see this Kathy, you know what you did.

My family has been coming here for quite a few years now and we are so pleased. They are fast and accurate. They are extremely knowledgeable and we feel comfortable discussing our information with them and know that they will keep everything private while also maximizing our return. They put all documents nicely into a portfolio which is very helpful for filing and/or when we need to reference the information.

Gave em my w2s 3 or 4 weeks ago and still havent heard back and they dont answer phone calls! Terrible tax company 100%would not recommend!
