Ask upfront for an estimate on your taxes or any tax questions. I was shocked at a bill for several hundred dollars when I asked a question over email. I paid it but had some questions about it. Bruce's ego was bruised that I asked questions about the bill and now told me he won't work with me as a result. Keep in mind, I promptly paid the bill. Oh well. There are other accountants out there that can handle running a business.
