From my first meeting with Steven T, I have been more than pleased with the work that he and his staff/assistants perform for me. I had a bad experience with another local accountant that left a bad taste in my mouth. Steven saved me and helped me with correcting the issues I had. Even now that I'm living in Pennsylvania, I'll only ever have H&T as my tax accountant.

We have used Hensley & Throneberry for three (3) years now, and this will be our last year. The first year everything was fine. The second year the IRS informed us that they did not fill out our injured spouse form correctly, and it had to be corrected and resubmitted. After having Hensley & Throneberry correct it and submit it doing twice, it took an additional 11 weeks to get our refund. This brought us to approximately 22 weeks on waiting for a refund. My wife and I figured we would give them another chance, as everyone makes mistakes. Understanding that this year the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything we dropped our taxes off early as we do every year, and waited for them to be done. Understanding that it would be a while considering the pandemic, we waited. Called after a few weeks, and nothing was done yet and told I would get a call back. A week later, that call never came. It was not until a month later, and me threatening to retrieve my documents and file myself, that my taxes were filed that day. EVEN THEN, they were not submitted to the IRS. I utilized the IRS where's my refund tool and found out the IRS had not received my refund information. I called Hensley & Throneberry back three days later and informed them of this. The representative mentioned that someone FORGOT to submit the documents to the IRS. So once again, we must wait additional time on our refund for the second year in a row due to their incompetence. Yet, they still expect you to pay for their service when they fail to do their job. It feels like a breach of contract to me...However, We will not use this company again to do our taxes. I advise you dont either if you want your taxes done and get your refund in a timely manner. Honestly, your better off doing your taxes yourself than using Hensley & Throneberry.

Really disappointed. I used Montgomer & Webb on the square for years, but I got a recommendation for Hensley & Thrineberry through a business associate to do my my joint tax return with my wife. A very ommitions they missed really showed they didn't pay much attention to my detailed file I keep NOR the simplified summary I do at the end of year. I pay quarterly estimated Federal and KY taxes, and they totally missed the KY tax payments! This and I dropped my simple file off the first week of March and it took 5 weeks to get it done and they did it wrong. Then when I questioned bout why Inwas paying a penalty as well as DOUBLE the KY income tax, I have to do the digging through the files they had for 6 weeks! Really unprofessional. I can't with good concious recommend them for any accounting tasks.

This rating is for first impression. We were referred to this office and just dropped our information off so our taxes are not completed yet. This office was welcoming and fun. They made you feel like you were stopping by to hang out. We dealt with Marty (she has a great personality) and our CPA is Steve. He was very informative but talked with you not above you.

From the first phone call with Marti to the final meeting with Steven they made a difficult tax year tolerable. Friendly, professional , and extremely helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking for an accountant/firm to help.
