I'm writing to share our booster club experience with Minden Financial. Our Booster Club was in disarray after the Covid years, and needed a strong re-start on many fronts, but especially with our financial picture. We went as far as we could in establishing sound financial practices, then made a recommendation to our executive board to hire a full time accountant to establish consistent and accurate financial statements, as well as serve as a check and balance going forward. That motion was approved and after looking at several options, Minden was awarded the business. From day 1 Virgil has listened to our issues, asked the right questions, and worked with us to clean up and establish a strong base of accurate accounting for our booster club. While we worked through initial startup questions and issues, we now have a very smooth running process. In addition to monthly accounting and creation of financial reports that are easy to understand, we can see year over year comparisons, we automatically kick out 1099's for contract employees, and we were able to smoothly create our Fiscal 2023 Form 990 for the IRS. And speaking of the IRS, Virgil has also helped us close out a mess created during Covid years when no 990's were properly filed. We had gone a long way toward that end, but continued to receive confusing penalty letters from the IRS that are now resolved with Virgil's help and attention. We continue to have confidence and trust in Minden Financial for our ongoing accounting needs, and maybe even more importantly in helping us stay on track as we cycle new members in and out of our booster club.
