NEGLIGENT bookkeeping. ATROCIOUS customer service. Hoping to save some hassle and give to a local business instead of filing online; we followed a recommendation to use J&L Accounting. HUGE mistake! It seemed to go well until we received a letter from the IRS - a document was missing. Judie neglected to file a REQUIRED document. She claimed it was never given to them. We knew it was; so we opened the file to confirm. It was there! But, it was no longer in the current year's stack - it had been shoved in the BACK of the PREVIOUS year's documents; which were required to turn in since we were new clients. We relayed this information and the response was, "I must have left it out because I didn't realize it was required." / "What do you want me to do?" No apologies. No offer to help us fix the issue. Awful customer service. We had to push her to do her job - fax wouldn't go through for the weeks she supposedly tried (we had to remind her frequently), and then Judie told us to mail it. She, the person we paid and trusted to handle the paperwork, did not offer to mail it herself. So, we had to ask her mail it. We had to ask her to do the JOB we PAID her to do. That is NOT professional. Weeks of not receiving a return and no information, turned into months. We attempted to contact Judie many times and never received a response. It has now been a year since we filed. We still have not received last year's return. And now, the current return was rejected - due to Judie and J&L Accounting's INCOMPETENT clerical abilities and their CARELESS customer service. ZERO STARS IF I COULD
