I was a client of Kristina's for the last couple years(2022-2023 tax years). I found her via google maps. Everything seemed ok until this year when my mortgage guy pointed out that I was missing several big ticket deductions on my taxes. Upon further review, I had uploaded all but one of the relevant documents to Kristina's CPA firm, and they had not added them to my return, to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars. The things that were missed were common sense items. Upon pointing out the issues, they blamed me, saying I had signed a form saying that everything was accurate. However, I am not a CPA, and I don't have a strong background in reviewing my own return for discrepancies, let alone filing my own return, which is why I sought out a CPA in the first place. Granted, my return was somewhat complex, but she is supposed to be a specialist for small business/personal returns, so I was not expecting her to have any issues with my return. She refused to fix the issues I discussed via an amended filing without first charging me additional money, and then severed their relationship with me when she found out how much the discrepancy was for, refusing to take any responsibility for her/her staffs' poor quality of work in the process. Additionally, for both years, they consistently missed what they told me was the deadline they were giving themselves for having my return ready to file, failing to set expectations accurately for me. I have since taken my business elsewhere to someone with more experience. I would not recommend Helferty CPA based on my 2022 and 2023 tax year experiences.

I was recommended to this business by my trusted attorney to assist in a very simple small business purchase - to review financial paperwork during due diligence and for CPA services onward into operations. I contacted them 6 days ago and was impressed by the detailed questions asked by the person who answered the phone. I outlined my needs and explained I was in a due diligence phase of the purchase and the matter was urgent. I was scheduled for a meeting today to discuss my needs - precious time during a three week due diligence. I was sent multiple reminders about the upcoming meeting, all including an outline of my needs. I was called promptly at the meeting time and was told Kristina was busy. I was then told by the lady on the phone that she didnt think they could help me with what I was looking for, but she had to check with Kristina. I explained that this was urgent and I had waited 6 days for this meeting. She said she would call me back. She did so within a few minutes and said they couldnt help but wanted to refer someone else. The woman on the phone was very short and what I would call snippy, steadily becoming increasingly so. I questioned if there was an understanding of exactly what I was looking for and she became agitated and condescending. I asked to speak to Kristina. I was told she was very busy. At this point this person became rude. A few minutes later I received a call from Kristina herself. She was very curt and said she was very busy and heading out the door. I tried to explain the situation, she cut me off before I could fully explain my needs and said she doesnt do what I was asking because people are lawsuit happy. I explained that I waited 6 days for this meeting and explained my needs to the receptionist last week. She rudely told me that she cant train her receptionist on all facets of what she is willing to do in her practice. She then hung up on me. I cant attest to their abilities as a company but I can say this was a very big waste of my time with looming critical timelines . The company presents itself as arrogant and its people with a nasty disposition. Six days ago is when I needed to know that they could not help me . My meeting was with the CPA, I waited 6 days for it and received no less than 4 reminders about it with a summary of my needs - not an assistant because the CPA was busy. Mistakes happen and an apology is in order at that point perhaps with expedited service with a referral- not more rudeness and nastiness, then getting hung up on. Unprofessional, high and mighty, and just downright nasty people. Unnecessarily wasted my time and likely delayed the transaction.

This such a great CPA firm! I have been using them for years with absolutely zero complaints. They are very responsive and more knowledgeable than any firm I have dealt with previously. I was literally shocked by how much money they saved me. I recommend them to all my friends and family.
